Heat Shrink Tubing
Heat Shrink Tubing is a ’standard’ Hejet™ heat gun application.

Heat shrink tubing is simply a wire insulation process. Far less time consuming and far more cost-effective than using electrical tape, heat shrink tubing only requires a modest amount of heat that causes the plastic tubing to shrink. Hejet™ heat guns have an attachment that causes the hot air gun to circulate hot air in a circular motion for even shrinkage. Even shrinkage ensures better insulation and better appearance of heat shrink parts.

Heat shrink tubing is also referred to as shrink wrap, shrink band, shrink tubing, heat shrink sleeve, heat shrink sleeves, and heat shrinkable tubing.  It is used to give an adtditional layer of protection to wires used in the construction of vehicles such as cars and vans and also airplanes and military vehicles,  spacecraft, audio and video equipment, computers and several large and small appliances.

Applications include electrical insulation, wire bundling, color coding, cable bundling, corrosion protection, strain relief and weather and moisture sealing for wires and cables. Heat shrink tube is a good way to make sure that no wire is left open and unprotected because those tend to be fire hazards.

How have you used your Hejet™  attachments in your applications?  We would love to hear from you so add your comments.
